M&S – Time To Celebrate
Staged in the run up to the 'Millennium' festive season leading retailer Marks and Spencer launched the highly successful 'Time to Celebrate' roadshow. At that time this was the largest ever touring retail show in Europe, attracting a total audience of around 30,000 at four major shopping centres. The 90 minute show was repeated six times a day and comprised of three distinct parts staged within a magnificent 50m x 30m, 120-tonne temporary 'space roof' structure. Two 320 seat theatres accommodated a rotating food demonstration with special guest celebrity chefs in a mock TV studio using M&S ingredients, plus a spectacular fashion show which showcased the store's latest clothing collections. In between sessions, visitors were free to peruse items from M&S home merchandise exhibited in themed 'room settings'. The production management involved coordinating nearly 50 artic trucks of equipment and 500 personnel (models, celebrities, staff and technical crew) at each location.
